Indira Sreeram Dixith is a prominent Indian classical dancer, teacher, and choreographer specializing in Kuchipudi. Originally from Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India, she began her journey in classical dance at a young age, having her Bharatanatyam arangetram at the age of nine under the tutelage of Guru Mythili Kumar. She then specialized in Kuchipudi, receiving dedicated and professional training for over two decades under the esteemed Kuchipudi maestro Kalaprapoorna Padma Bhushan Dr. Vempati Chinna Satyam at the Kuchipudi Art Academy in Chennai, India. Throughout her career, Indira Sreeram Dixith has toured and performed extensively in major cities across India, the former Soviet Union, Europe, Canada, and the United States, often as a member of an elite dance team sponsored by the ICCR New Delhi. She is the artistic founder-director of the "Center for Kuchipudi Dance," a Kuchipudi dance school established in Kendall Park, New Jersey, USA, where she continues to propagate the ancient art form to the Indian American community in the Tri-state area. The school, which has over 100 students, received the 'Best Dance School of the Year' Award in 2011. With over 20 years of teaching and choreography experience, Guru Indira Sreeram Dixith has gained significant recognition as a performer, teacher, and choreographer. Her efforts in promoting Kuchipudi have earned her several accolades, including the title 'Natya Kala Tapasvi' in 2010 by Telugu.org, a "Superior contribution to Arts award" in 2013 by TAGDV, and a "Distinguished performing arts award" from ATA in 2014. She also received an Appreciation award from TFAS - Telugu Fine Arts Society in 2015 for her superior contributions to Indian Classical Dances. She has collaborated with eminent artists from India, coordinating and curating various presentations and workshops to promote Kuchipudi. She holds an MBA and a Diploma in Yoga and Naturopathy from Chennai University.
