Indrani Parthasarathy is a distinguished figure in Indian classical dance, serving as the Artistic Director and teacher at the Abhinaya School of Performing Arts in Houston, Texas, which she founded in 2001. She is the daughter and disciple of Karnataka Kala Thilaka Guru Smt. Radha Sridhar of Bengaluru, India. Her extensive training encompasses multiple Bharatanatyam styles, including the Pandanallur style under Guru Muththaiah Pillai, and the Kalakshetra style under Sri M.R. Krishnamurthy and the Dhananjayans. Additionally, she is trained in Kuchipudi and Carnatic vocal music. Parthasarathy holds the distinction of achieving the first rank in the proficiency dance diploma exam in the state of Karnataka and is recognized as a graded artist of Bangalore Doordarshan. Throughout her career, she has delivered over 150 solo performances and has played significant character roles in her guru's dance drama productions. Her performances have graced stages across India, the UAE, and the USA. Beyond performing, Indrani Parthasarathy is also an accomplished choreographer, having choreographed numerous dance features, dramas, varnams, and keerthanams. At her Abhinaya School of Performing Arts, she trains students across all levels in Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi, aiming to impart her expertise to the next generation of dancers.
