Ishwaria Chandru is a Bharatanatyam dancer, performer, and teacher based in Canada. She is a disciple of Guru Nirainjana Chandru, who leads the Kalaimanram Academy of Fine Arts & Yoga in Markham, Ontario, Canada. Ishwaria Chandru is also a teacher at Kalaimanram Canada, where her students perform under her guidance. Her training in Bharatanatyam has led her to perform at various events, including a TEDxMississauga event where she presented a Bharatanatyam performance. She has also showcased her artistry through online platforms, with several Bharatanatyam performances available on her YouTube channel. In 2016, Ishwaria Chandru presented a recital titled "Abhinaya Darpanam," where she performed a piece to Mahakavi Bharathiyar's "Chinnan Chiru Kiliye." The concept and choreography for this performance were a collaborative effort between her and her guru, Nirainjana Chandru. Her guru, Nirainjana Chandru, has been providing traditional training in classical Indian dance and Yoga since 1985 and is credited with introducing Bharatanatyam dance examinations for the first time in Canada. Ishwaria Chandru continues this legacy of teaching and performing Bharatanatyam in Canada.
