Jasline Shimmy Antony is a professional Bharatanatyam artist who was born and raised in Newham, United Kingdom, and is recognized as a great exponent of Bharatanatyam in the U.K.. Her journey in Bharatanatyam began at the age of nine when she started training at the Mudralaya School of Dance. She received her tutelage under the guidance of Smt Pushkala Gopal and Sri Unnikrishnan. By the age of eleven, Jasline began training and coordinating dance groups, showcasing an early aptitude for leadership and instruction within the art form. Throughout her career, she has choreographed numerous dances for various Malayalee cultural events held across London. Her teaching experience is extensive, having taught Bharatanatyam at Mudralaya, MAUK, and also independently. As a performer, Jasline Shimmy Antony has graced countless stages across the UK, participating in significant events such as Diwali on the Square, Retro Tangle, Vasanta Utsavam, Bharatha Yatra, and Aragam. Her performances have taken her to notable venues including Trafalgar Square, The Shaw Theatre, Rich Mix, Logan Hall, Walthamstow Assembly Hall, Nehru Centre, Excel centre, Rasa Restaurant, and Mahalakshmi Temple. Beyond the UK, she has also performed internationally with Mayaloka in Zurich and London, and under the banner of Sanskriti. She served as the choreographer and trainer for the Mega Thiruvathira at MAUK's Platinum Mela. Jasline has spoken about the profound impact Bharatanatyam has had on her life, helping her to overcome depression and anxiety, and shaping her sense of identity, community, and belonging.
