Jayeeta Banerjee is an acclaimed practitioner of Bharatanatyam, a classical Indian dance form. Her journey in dance commenced at the age of six, under the tutelage of Guru Dr. Thankamani Kutty. She further honed her skills and artistic expression through training with Guru Sharmila Biswas. Banerjee has garnered significant recognition for her dedication and artistic excellence. She is the recipient of several prestigious awards and scholarships, including the National Nrutya Bhusan Samman and the Pt Jasraj National Scholarship for Bharatanatyam. In 2022, she was honored with the IWD Rising Star award for Performing Arts by Dancing Damsels, Toronto. Her performances have received wide acclaim from both the press and audiences across various international platforms, with engagements in India, the United States, the UAE, Singapore, and Canada. Jayeeta Banerjee is the Artistic Director of Vivarta Center for Performing Arts, located in Toronto, Canada. This institution is dedicated to the research and learning of Bharatanatyam. Through Vivarta, she is actively involved in nurturing the next generation of dancers and also conducts workshops for underprivileged children in India.
