Jnana Aithal is a highly accomplished Bharatanatyam dancer from Mangaluru, India. She commenced her Bharatanatyam training at the tender age of five under the tutelage of Vidushi Vidyashree Radhakrishnan of Gana Nritya Peetha. She continues to refine her artistry under Guru Balakrishna Manjeshwar. Additionally, she received training from choreographer Sandesh Janvi of Mangalore Excellent Dance Academy and was influenced by Kathak exponents Prathama Prasad and Sweekrith, Odissi teacher Geethanjali, Master Shashank, and music expert Vidhushi Saroja Mohandas. Jnana Aithal holds a Master's degree in Bharatanatyam from Reva University. Aithal has garnered significant recognition from a young age. She was the winner of the Zee TV Kannada Dance competition 'Kuniyona Bhara' in 2008 and later a runner-up in Kuniyona Bhara Mahaguru Super Shishya. In 2011, she won a national-level dance competition in Mysore, earning the Natya Mandara award. She also secured first place in the Bala Pratibha Bharatanatyam competition organized by the state Kannada and culture department in Dharwad and received the Kalashri award from the department of child welfare in Mangalore. Her other accolades include the Vishwa Kala Ratna Award, Puttanna Kanagal Award, Udhbhava Bhushana Award, Rajyotsava Prathibha Puraskara Award, Kannada Keerthishree Award, State Kalashree Award, and Bala Prathibha Award. Jnana Aithal is the founder and leader of the dance troupe "Hejjenaada" based in Mangalore. Under her leadership, Hejjenaada has performed on over 2000 stages across India, showcasing various dance styles including Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, Yoga Nrithya, folk, contemporary, and filmy styles. She has performed at numerous prestigious events and venues such as Lakkundi Utsava, Ravindra Kala Kshetra, Hampi Utsava, and Udupi Paryaya. Aithal was also a top 16 contestant in Zee TV's "Dance India Dance Little Masters" and has participated in Colors Kannada Master Dancer and Star Plus's "India's Dancing Superstar." She is scheduled to present a Bharatanatyam recital at The Bhavan in London in 2026.
