Jyoti Srivastava is a senior exponent of Odissi, an Indian classical dance form, with a career spanning over four decades. She began her lifelong devotion to classical Indian dance at the early age of four. Her extensive training includes studies under revered Gurus such as Valmiki Banerjee, Durga Charan Ranbir, and Srinath Raut. She also explored other classical forms like Mohiniattam and Manipuri, as well as various folk dances. Further enriching her understanding of dance, Srivastava earned an M. Phil in classical music. She has conducted in-depth research and training on the style and compositions of Guru Deb Prasad Das, and served as the Director of the Nehru Institute of Odissi Research and Training in Delhi. For two years, she worked with Guru Ramli Ibrahim in Malaysia, assisting in the productions of his Sutra Dance Theatre. Currently, she is the Director of Vaishali Kala Kendra in Noida, where she trains dancers in Guru Deba Prasad Das's technique, dedicating her skills to nurturing young talent and ensuring the art form's continuity.
