Jyotika Rao discovered Bharatanatyam as a child in Paris, where she began her training with Malavika. She furthered her education at the Rishi Valley Institute in South India, near Bangalore, under the tutelage of S. Meenakshi and her aunt Veena Vishalakshi. Later, as an adult residing in Pune, India, she became a disciple of Dr. Sucheta Chapekar. Rao has developed a distinctive style known as "Nritya Ganga," which seamlessly blends Bharatanatyam technique with Hindustani music, incorporating elements from Marathi, Sanskrit, and Hindi literature. Having lived between India and France, her artistic expression is a fusion of these two cultural influences. She is a dedicated educator, offering Bharatanatyam classes in Paris to children, adolescents, and adults through collective courses, private lessons, and workshops. Her teaching methodology emphasizes the expressiveness of the face, the fluidity of gestures, and the harmonious interplay between musicality and dance movements.
