K.P. Rakesh is an accomplished Indian classical dancer specializing in Bharatanatyam, who has also trained in Kuchipudi and Mohiniyattam. He holds a Post Diploma from the prestigious Kalakshetra Foundation in Chennai, where he currently serves as a lecturer. Furthering his academic pursuits, Rakesh earned an M.A. in Bharatanatyam from Madras University, complementing his earlier Diploma in Electrical Engineering. His arangetram, or debut performance, took place in 1997. Rakesh is recognized for his nuanced performances, which have been featured at prominent venues such as The Music Academy Dance Festival and Narada Gana Sabha in Chennai. His artistry is characterized by clarity of movement, powerful footwork, and a dignified stage presence. He is also a researcher and author, contributing articles on Indian performing arts and literature to various magazines and journals, including The Hindu. In 2017, he delivered a lecture titled 'Redefining the 'Spiritual' in the pursuit Programme' at Navadisha. Awards & Honours: Best dancer award (2019), Outstanding dancer award (M.N.
