Kalaimamani Smt. Padmalaksshme Suresh is a distinguished exponent of the Bharatanatyam style of Indian classical dance, renowned as a performer, teacher, and choreographer. Her dance journey began under the tutelage of SNA Awardee Guru Kalaimamani Smt. Ranganayaki Jayaraman, and she has also collaborated with several senior dance gurus on their productions. Academically accomplished, she holds an M.A. gold medal from Madras University, along with additional Master's degrees in Political Science and Bharatanatyam, and an M.Phil. As an "A" grade artiste of Doordarshan, Padmalaksshme Suresh has captivated audiences globally, performing in Dubai, Muscat, Colombo, the United States of America, Malaysia, Singapore, and Australia. She is recognized for her innovative "ATMA NRITHYAM" performances, where she improvises to dance numbers chosen by the audience on the spot. In 2001, she established the Padmalaya School of Bharatanatyam in Mylapore, Chennai, with branches later opening in Chromepet (2005) and Velachery, dedicated to propagating the divine art of Bharatanatyam. She is also a panel member of IRCEN (India International Rural Cultural Centre), New Delhi, and an Executive Member of ABHAI (Association of Bharatanatyam Artistes of India).
