Kalamandalam Sreekandhan Nair is a Kathakali artist born on September 12, 1958, in the Ernakulam District of Kerala, India. His parents are Bhargavan Nair and Padmavathi Amma. He completed his primary education up to the 10th standard. Sreekandhan Nair underwent extensive training in Kathakali for eight years at the prestigious Kerala Kalamandalam, where he also had the opportunity to practice under several renowned teachers. He has developed expertise in portraying various types of characters within the Kathakali repertoire and has performed the classical dance form on numerous stages. Currently, he is actively involved in teaching Kathakali. He is based in Kochi, India. His family includes his wife, Subha Kumari, and their two children, a daughter named Aswathi and a son named Aswin.
