Kamalika Ghosh is an accomplished Indian classical dancer and educator, primarily known for her expertise in Bharatanatyam. Her dance journey commenced at the tender age of three in her hometown of Asansol, India, leading to formal Bharatanatyam training under Guru Smt. Madhumita Sarkar from the age of five. She underwent rigorous training for a decade, culminating in the prestigious Sangeet Bivakar award in Bharatanatyam with First Division distinction from Bangiya Sangeet Parishad, affiliated with Rabindra Bharati University, in 2005. Although she pursued a career in software engineering, Kamalika Ghosh maintained her connection to dance, attending workshops at Dr. Smt. Thankamani Kutty's Kalamandalam and performing at various college and corporate events. After relocating to the United Kingdom, she continued to refine her art under Smt. Esther Sunija at Abhinaya Dance Academy in Glasgow. Since then, she has graced numerous esteemed stages across the UK, including London, Manchester, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, and Glasgow, performing at events hosted by the Indian Consulate, Glasgow City Council, and various cultural organizations. In 2024, Kamalika Ghosh established "The Ghungroo Revolution," a professional dance troupe showcasing adult dancers proficient in diverse classical styles such as Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Odissi, and Kuchipudi. The troupe has performed at notable events like the Glasgow Mela, presenting NavaRasa, and an Indo-Scottish fusion at Sarod & Sopranos, where they opened for Pandit Prattyush Banerjee. In 2025, she founded "The Ghungroo Academy of Dance" (TGAD) in Glasgow, aiming to impart high-quality training in Bharatanatyam, Indian traditional folk dance, and Rabindranritya. She is a registered Bharatanatyam teacher under The Griffin College London and serves as the Cultural Secretary of Bengali Performing Arts Glasgow. Awards & Honours: Sangeet Bivakar (2005).
