Smt. Karthika Devi Ganesh is a highly respected and reputed Bharatanatyam dancer, recognized in both India and Canada. She is a leading proponent of the Pandasarthur tradition in Bharatanatyam, known for infusing depth, passion, and spontaneity into her performances. Karthika Ganesh received her training from notable figures in the dance field, including "Kalamamani" Parvathi Gandasala, Therasa, and "Tanjore" Geetha Navneethan. Her most prominent guru, Kalaimamani Srimathi Parvati Ravi Ghanatsala, guided her in Nattuvangam and abhinaya. Throughout her career, Karthika Ganesh has performed in numerous major festivals across India and has appeared on international television channels such as Jaya TV and Asianet. She is a gold medallist in dance, an honor she received from the late President Sri Shankar Dayal Sharma. Beyond performing, she is actively involved in lecture demonstrations, classes, workshops, and seminars. Karthika Ganesh founded the "Shakthi Shetralaya Dance School," a center for performing arts located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The institution was established with the aim of training aspiring artists. She is a versatile artist, combining the roles of founder, dancer, choreographer, lyric composer, singer, and teacher. Her distinct style, developed through practice and research, has enriched Bharatanatyam by bringing contemporary interpretations to its traditional framework.
