Kavitha Ramaswamy is a Bharatanatyam dancer and teacher who began her training in the Kalakshetra style at the age of three. She also started learning music at seven. For two decades, she pursued Bharatanatyam under the tutelage of Guru Smt. Sripriya Sridhar, a disciple of the renowned Dhananjayans. Ramaswamy performed her Arangetram in 2004 when she was thirteen years old. Beyond her performances, she has a strong inclination for teaching, having trained many juniors and choreographed various items. While she also pursued higher education, earning Bachelor's, Master's, and Chartered Accountancy degrees, and holds a professional job, her passion for dance led her to create an outlet to share Bharatanatyam with a global audience. She offers online Bharatanatyam classes, including video lessons, and maintains an interactive blog called "Natyakriya" dedicated to the art form. She also uploads instructional videos on YouTube to assist students in learning and practicing Bharatanatyam.
