Kesha Raithatha is a British Asian dancer and choreographer known for her work in Kathak and contemporary dance. Her foundational Kathak training began at the age of eight under her mother, Priti Raithatha, and Smt. Nilima Devi M.B.E., with whom she completed six National ISTD examinations and attained an ISTD National Diploma in Kathak in 2006. Since 2009, Raithatha has continued her Kathak studies under Smt. Nirupama Rajendra of Abhinava Dance Company and Smt. Daksha Sheth, dividing her time between India and the UK. Her diverse training also encompasses contemporary dance, Kalari Payattu, various Indian folk forms, and physical theatre. Throughout her career, Raithatha has performed with celebrated Indian classical and contemporary dance companies, including Nritarutya Indian Contemporary Dance Company under Mayuri Upadhya and Daksha Sheth Dance Company. She has graced prestigious stages globally, performing at events such as Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II's Royal Diamond Jubilee Pageant at Windsor Castle and the China Arts Festival. Her versatility extends to film, having worked as a dance artist for the 2016 motion picture "Mirzya". As a choreographer, Raithatha creates work that is rich in detail and reconsiders contemporary South Asian dance. Her choreographic projects include "Synapse" (2020), "Bollywood Jane" (2019), and "Black Waters" (2020). She is deeply involved in the arts sector, serving as an Associate Artistic Director for Aakash Odedra Company, a Workplace Artist at The Place (London Contemporary Dance School), and a Resident Artist at Curve Theatre. Raithatha is passionate about fostering global artistic collaboration and addressing relevant social and political themes through her art. She also holds a BA (Hons) in Graphic Design, which she integrates into her creative process through costume, light design, and dance for screen.
