Kimberly Yap is a Bharatanatyam dancer based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Dance, specializing in Bharatanatyam, from the National Academy of Arts Culture and Heritage (ASWARA) in Malaysia. She completed her Arangetram under The Temple of Fine Arts Kuala Lumpur in 2017. Yap has also trained in ballet since a young age and holds a Certification in Ballet Teaching Studies from the Royal Academy of Dance. She is a dedicated dancer with Ask Dance Company in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Her performance experience includes showcasing her talents at international events such as WE Dance in the West Kowloon Cultural District, Hong Kong, and the Asia Pacific Dance Festival 2019 in Hawaii. She has performed in Ask Dance Company's productions, including 'Becoming King', '3 Faces', 'Menempa Tari Tradisi', and 'Menyemai Seni, Menjunjung Langit'. Her international appearances also include Bhaskareeyam 2022 in Singapore, INTERFACE 2022 in Kolkata, the International Khajuraho Dance Festival 2023, and the Gwangju Fringe Festival 2023 in South Korea. Yap has also conducted teaching workshops internationally. She performed a solo work, 'Bayu Tenggara: Bharatanatyam & Chinese Classical', at the Shantanand Festival of Arts in December 2019 and showcased a digital solo titled 'Ubi Bene Ibi Petria' in January 2021, funded by CENDANA's Create Now Funding.
