Koka Vijayalakshmi is a prominent Indian classical dancer and guru specializing in Kuchipudi, an indigenous dance form from Andhra Pradesh, India. Born into a Telugu family with a deep appreciation for fine arts, she began her dance journey at the age of five, guided by her parents, Late Koka Radha Krishna Murthy and Sambrajyam. Her initial training in Kuchipudi was under the tutelage of Guru Shri Kaza Venkata Subrahmanyam, a distinguished disciple of the revered Padmabhushan Dr. Vempati China Satyam. Vijayalakshmi is not only a dedicated artist but also an academic, holding a science degree, an M.A. in Kuchipudi dance from PST University, Hyderabad, and an M.Phil in Tourism Management. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Dance. Her illustrious career spans over 1000 performances across India and internationally. She is recognized as an Empanelled Artiste by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), participates in the Festivals of India abroad under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, and is a Doordarshan Graded Artiste. In 2004, she established "Koka Vijayalakshmi Kuchipudi Dance" in Ameerpet, Hyderabad, an institution dedicated to teaching and promoting Kuchipudi. Through her academy, she continues to impart her knowledge and passion for the dance form to students of all ages. Awards & Honours: Nandi Awards (2011), Ugadi Puraskaram (2012).
