Subha Kokubo Chakraborty started her dance training at the age of three. She joined the Mamata Shankar Ballet Troupe at fifteen, learning Uday Shankar creative dance style. She received Bharatnatyam training under Guru Thankamani Kutty and Shri Kalamandalam Venkitt. She has lived in Toyota, Aichi for 19 years, aiming to build cultural exchange between Japan and India through dance. She is the founder of Indian Classical Dance Troupe, teaches Uday Shankar creative dance style and Bharatnatyam, and has organized and performed in various festivals and programs in Japan, India, and the USA. She is also an author promoting Japan-India cultural communication.
