Kritika Rajan is a prominent young Odissi dancer based in the United States, recognized for her exceptional talent and technical perfection. She has trained for nearly two decades alongside her twin sister, Ishika Rajan. Kritika is the daughter and a dedicated disciple of renowned Odissi exponent Sreyashi Dey. Her extensive training also includes tutelage under Guru Manoranjan Pradhan from Odisha, as well as further instruction from esteemed gurus such as Ratikant Mohapatra, Madhusmita Mohanty, Pabitra Kumar Pradhan, and Jhelum Pranjape. As a company member of Srishti, Kritika Rajan has performed widely across the globe, including international appearances in India and Southeast Asia. Her performances in the United States have taken her to numerous cities, including San Francisco, Seattle, Washington, D.C., New York, St. Louis, Kansas City, Philadelphia, Delaware, West Virginia, Minnesota, Pittsburgh, and Ann Arbor. She has graced stages at various venues such as the Kelly Strayhorn Theater, Carnegie Mellon University, the University of Pittsburgh, and the Detroit Institute for the Arts. A significant milestone in her career was her performance with the Srishti ensemble at the Downtown Dance Festival/Erasing Borders in New York City in 2012, which garnered wide acclaim and a glowing review in the New York Times. Her dance style is celebrated for its precise technical execution and its visually appealing geometry, often evoking the imagery of temple sculptures from Odisha. Beyond her artistic pursuits, Kritika Rajan is also an accomplished academic, holding a triple major in Economics, Biology, and Anthropology from the University of Michigan. She balances her dance career with her professional life as an Economics and Finance consultant in Washington, D.C., dividing her time between Ann Arbor and Washington, D.C.
