Krushna Chandra Ray is a vocalist and composer from Orissa, India, recognized for his contributions to Indian classical music, particularly in the context of Odissi and Hindustani classical traditions. He is the founder of Sworabitan Academy, an institution dedicated to teaching Indian vocal music. The academy was established in Orissa, India, in 1993. Expanding its reach, Sworabitan Academy opened a branch in Melbourne, Australia, in 2007, operating under the auspices of the Chandrabhanu Bharatalaya Academy. Through Sworabitan Academy, he imparts knowledge of vocal music from East and North India, with a curriculum that includes songs, bhajans, and ghazals in languages such as Sanskrit, Oriya, Bengali, and Hindi. Ray has also undertaken the creation of new music specifically for Odissi and Bharatanatyam performances, demonstrating his role as a composer for classical dance forms. He resides in Bhubaneswar, India.
