Lakshanya Vasan is a Bharatanatyam dancer, teacher, and the founder of the Natya Praana School of Indian Classical Dance in Melbourne, Australia. She is a disciple of Smt. Rathika Mahadeva, a senior alumnus of Bharata Kalanjali. Vasan further honed her skills through intense training in Natya, Sangeetham, Yoga, and Chanting at Bharata Kalanjali in Chennai, India. She established the Natya Praana School of Indian Classical Dance in Melbourne in 2022, at the age of 26, with the aim of sharing the ancient art form in Australia. The school has grown to encompass a community of approximately 120 students across four locations in Melbourne's South East. Vasan has performed at events such as the Kalna Nrityotsav in 2020. Her institution focuses on teaching fundamental Bharatanatyam techniques, facial expressions, and complex choreography, culminating in annual student concerts.
