Vidushi Lalita Kore M. Rao is a distinguished Bharatanatyam danseuse from India. Her journey in dance commenced in 1957, where she received her training under the esteemed guidance of Padmabhushan Dr. K. Venkatalakshmamma, a recipient of the Natyarani Shanthala and Sangeetha Kalaratna Awards. Lalita Kore M. Rao is recognized for her dedication to conserving and advancing the traditions and culture of the Mysore Style Bharatanatyam. In 1971, she founded Shanthala Nritya Kala Niketana in Bogadi Second Stage, Mysuru. Over a career spanning more than 53 years, she has trained thousands of disciples who have achieved success both in India and abroad. She has also established a dance school in Bengaluru, where she currently resides, continuing her significant contributions to the arts through teaching and performing across various states. Her performances include appearances at prestigious venues such as Ravindra Kalakshetra in Bengaluru and the Mysuru Dasara, as well as numerous cultural events organized by the Kannada and Culture Department and the Nritya Academy. Awards & Honours: Nupura Shri (2023), Karnataka Rajyotsava Award.
