Lavanya Kasarabada is an accomplished Indian classical dancer, choreographer, and educator, formally trained in both Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi dance forms. She received her Bharatanatyam training under the tutelage of Smt. Padmini Ravi and Kalaimamani Shri Guru Madurai R. Muralidharan. Kasarabada is the Founder and Artistic Director of Aakriti Dance Academy, based in the greater Seattle area, where she has been teaching and choreographing for over 15 years. Her academy offers instruction in various dance styles, including Bollywood, Hip-Hop, Bhangra, and Fusion, while maintaining a strong focus on Indian classical dance. Kasarabada has gained recognition for her dedication to classical dance, holding a Guinness World Record for performing a Tamil Varnam and an Asia Book of Records achievement for completing 75 jathis nonstop, showcasing her stamina, precision, and passion. She has directed, choreographed, and performed in numerous shows in both India and the United States for various non-profit and cultural organizations. Beyond her dance career, Lavanya Kasarabada is also a fitness enthusiast and works as a Product Manager at Microsoft. She is passionate about building a vibrant community through dance and believes in nurturing students to become dancers, choreographers, performers, and contributors to their communities.
