Leena Patel is a celebrated dancer, choreographer, and medical doctor based in the United Kingdom. She received her classical Indian dance training in Bharatanatyam under Smt. Chitraleka Bolar and Kathak under Sonia Sabri. Her professional dance career commenced at the age of 14 with her debut solo performance, after which she performed at prestigious venues across the UK, including Birmingham Symphony Hall, The Lowry, and London's Royal Festival Hall. Balancing her passion for dance with her medical studies, Leena enrolled in medical school at Barts and the London while continuing to pursue her dance career for over a decade. Patel is recognized for her innovative approach to dance, particularly her development of "commercial Indian classical dance," which seamlessly integrates traditional Indian classical forms with Western movement. She is the founder of Leena Patel Legacy Productions (LPLP), launched in 2016, and BollyFemme, a movement dedicated to empowering women through dance. As a highly sought-after Bollywood dance choreographer in the UK, Leena has collaborated with numerous Bollywood celebrities such as Shahid Kapoor, Sonakshi Sinha, Malaika Arora-Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Bipasha Basu, and Amy Jackson. Her work has also extended to mainstream media, including appearances on Channel 4's 'Stand up to Cancer' and BBC's 'Strictly Come Dancing'. Notably, she co-choreographed for WILL.I.AM at the 'BBC Music Awards' and contributed to the prestigious 'Nobel Peace Prize Concert' in Oslo in 2014. Currently, Leena Patel practices as a General Practitioner while continuing to lead BollyFemme classes and professional rehearsals for BollyWorld Entertainment.
