Lekha Prasad is an accomplished Bharatanatyam dancer and researcher. She began her initial dance training at a very young age under Smt. Kausalya. Her Rangapravesha took place at the age of 13 under Guru Karnataka Kalashree Smt. Sunanda Devi. She furthered her training under Guru Narmadha and completed her Vidwat under Guru Karnataka Kalashree and State Awardee, Revathi Narasimhan, with whom she continues her training. Lekha is currently pursuing advanced intensive training in dance under Guru Kalaimamani Smt. Priya Murle, Artistic Director of Shri Silambam Academy of Fine Arts. She also acknowledges the blessings of late Vidwan Madrasri in Krishnan and Guru Professor Sudharani Raghupati. With over a decade of performing experience, Lekha has given numerous performances across India, including at national festivals, Yavanika, World Culture, Youth Festivals, Samskruthika Saurabha's, and Ankura. She has performed at prestigious events such as the Dasara Utsava at Mysore, Brahmotsava at ISKON, Bangalore, and the Kinkini Festival. She is a Graded Artist of Doordarshan and has performed at The Music Academy Madras as part of HCL Concerts in 2022. Lekha has received several accolades, including the 'Nritya Nipuna' title from Nalanda University, the 'Guru Pandanallur Meenakshi Sundaram Pillai Endowment Award' from Krishna Gana Sabha in 2017, and a CCRT scholarship for Young Artists in 2020. She secured second place in the national 'Dance of India @75' competition organized by the Centre for Indian Classical Dances. Beyond dance, Lekha Prasad is an architecture graduate from NIT Trichy and holds a postgraduate degree from SAP, Anna University. She has conducted extensive research exploring the derivation of architecture from Bharatanatyam movements. She also holds a postgraduate degree in Computer Applications and an M.Phil in Computer Science, and works as a senior lecturer in the Department of MCA at P E S Institute of Technology. She co-authored the book “Rabindranath Tagore - A birds view” with Dr. K.N Pushpalatha.
