Vidushi Dr. M.S. Srilakshmi is a distinguished professional Bharatanatyam dancer and an accomplished teacher, who has also founded the Natyaranjini Dance School. Her academic prowess in the art form is evident from her completion of the Vidwat (Proficiency) examination with distinction. With a dedicated practice spanning over 30 years, she has performed extensively both within India and internationally. Her talent has been recognized through significant scholarships, including a senior-level merit scholarship from the Ministry of Human Resource Development (Department of Culture), Government of India, which she received for two consecutive years. She was also awarded a state scholarship for two years by the Sangeetha Nruthya Academy, Government of Karnataka, India. A testament to her artistic excellence, M.S. Srilakshmi was honored with the prestigious title "Nrithya kala Shiromani" at the International Music and Dance festival held in Odisha. Further showcasing her competitive spirit and skill, she secured the 1st place at the All India Music and Dance competition in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh. Her standing in the national cultural landscape is solidified by her status as a Graded Doordarshan Artist. Through her Natyaranjini Dance School, based in Singapore, she is committed to imparting comprehensive training in the intricate art of Bharatanatyam to students across various age groups, fostering the next generation of classical dancers.
