Madhumita Misra is a distinguished Indian classical dancer specializing in Odissi. She received her training under Guru Sri Durga Charan Ranbir of the Deba Prasad Das Gharana. Misra has achieved significant academic qualifications in dance, completing Nrutya Shastri from the Sangeet Natak Academy, Orissa, and Nrutya Bhaskar from Pracheen Kala Kendra. She is currently pursuing Nrutya Chudamani (Ph.D) under the guidance of Guru Sri Durga Charan Ranbir from Pracheen Kala Kendra, Chandigarh. Beyond her artistic pursuits, she also holds a Science Graduate degree and is a Computer Professional. Throughout her career, Madhumita Misra has performed extensively at various prestigious festivals and events across India. Her performances include the Mahabalipuram Dance Festival in 2008, the Pune Ganesh Festival, the Kal-Ke-Kalakar Sangeet Sammelan in Mumbai, and events at the Shibali Cultural Society of India and ISKCON Auditorium in Juhu, Mumbai. She has also graced the stage at Pallabotsavam in Mysore and performed in Dwaraka during Janmashtami in 2007. Misra is recognized as a reputed artist by the Culture Department of the Orissa Government and has been appointed as an examiner for Pracheen Kala Kendra, Chandigarh, and Sangeet Natak Academy, Orissa. As an educator and institution head, Madhumita Misra founded and directs her own school, "Nrutyasudha," through which she has conducted group programs in various locations across India. She has also contributed to the academic discourse of dance, conducting a seminar on 'Influence of Temple Culture on Odissi Dance' at Kedarnath Gabesana Parisad, Bhubaneswar, and publishing articles on dance in newspapers and magazines. She has performed in numerous dance-dramas for Doordarshan Kendra, Bhubaneswar. Additionally, she has received training in Mardala from Guru Sri Dhaneswar Swain and Hindustani Vocal music.
