Madhura Bhrushundi is an accomplished Indian classical dancer specializing in Bharatanatyam, based in New Delhi, India. She has been a dedicated disciple of Padmashri Guru Geeta Chandran, training under her tutelage for over 13 years. Madhura presented her formal solo debut performance, her Arangetram, in 2014. Her career highlights include being a recipient of the Scholarship to Young Artistes, awarded by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, and being recognized as a Grade B artiste of Doordarshan. Madhura is a senior dancer with Guru Geeta Chandran's Natya Vriksha Dance Company, where she has performed in group choreographies at numerous prestigious festivals across India, such as the Khajuraho Dance Festival, Ganga Mahotsav, Uday Shankar Choreography Festival, and Kalidas Samaroh. As a solo performer, she has graced various platforms including the Amritanjali Mahotsav, Karur Natyanjali, and Sai Nrityotsav. She has also performed at the Rashtrapati Bhawan in the presence of the President, Vice-President, and Prime Minister of India. Beyond performing, Madhura Bhrushundi is actively involved in teaching and promoting Indian classical arts. She assists Guru Geeta Chandran in teaching Bharatanatyam at the Natya Vriksha institute in New Delhi. She also conducts workshop demonstrations to spread awareness about Indian classical arts, particularly Bharatanatyam, in collaboration with organizations like Spic Macay, Routes2Roots, and NCPA. Recent online content from Routes 2 Roots features her as "Guru Madhura Bhrushundi," introducing and teaching fundamental Bharatanatyam techniques like Kudittamettu Adavu, Pakka Adavu, and Tatta Adavu.
