I am Maheswari, Artistic Director of Natyapriya School Of Dance LLC, taking Bharatanatyam clasess for kids & adults in Corcoran.I am a dancer, teacher & a choreographer. She was trained in Bharathanatyam under the able guidance of Guru Smt Sai-Subbulakshmi, disciple of Sri V.S. Muthuswami Pillai, well known as "Bambara Sagotharigal" for their dual performances in Indian Cinema. I have been practicing Bharathanatyam for over 3 decades. I started teaching Bharatanatyam in US since 2015. My lifetime passion for dance led her to establish her dance school. Natyapriya school students have performed Bharathanatyam and contemporary dances in several acclaimed cultural events and had the privilege to participate in many workshops like "Pallandu" which explores a Periyazhwar Pasuram by Guru. Smt. Karuna Sagari. Myself and my students also participated in Tamil Varnam workshop conducted by Guru Sri. Madurai R Muralidharan for covid relief funds & Guinness Book of World Records. Natyapriya school students have won prices in various competitions in India and USA. I have choreographs classical, folk, Bollywood and contemporary dances for various local events. Under my tutelage and guidance, my students have staged Salanga pooja and Arangetram who are in their career path and still continuing their dance passion with my guidance. I always enjoys in learning & teaching dance and believes there are no barriers to learning and sharing the passion of dance.
