Malini Agrahar is an accomplished Indian classical dancer and choreographer, primarily trained in Bharatanatyam, with a specialization in the 108 Karanas of the Natyasastra. She has been actively practicing and performing the art form for over two decades, earning appreciation from art lovers and critics alike for her magnificent stage presence. Malini Agrahar commenced her dance journey at the age of seven, receiving initial training from the esteemed dance couple G.S. Nagesh and Sriranjitha Nagesh. She further honed her skills under Smt. Shama Krishna. Her dedication to Bharatanatyam led her to pursue a Master of Fine Arts at Sastra University, Tanjore, where she studied under the personal guidance of Padmavibhushan Guru Dr. Padma Subrahmanyam. Additionally, she underwent intense training in the 108 Karanas of Natyasastra under both Dr. Padma Subrahmanyam and Dr. Gayatri Kannan. Malini Agrahar performed her arangetram in 2017 in Bangalore, India. Beyond Bharatanatyam, she has also explored Kathak and maintains a keen interest in complementary Indian classical art forms, including Carnatic classical Vocal, Veena, Hatha yoga, visual arts, literature, and theater. She has performed internationally in countries such as Australia, Singapore, the UK, and Ireland, where she is currently based. Malini Agrahar is the Artistic Director of the Agrahar Centre for Art and Culture.
