He is the grandson of the late Guru Elangbam Anganghal Singh, a revered figure in Sankirtana and Cholom, and considers him his Adi Guru [2, 3, 5]. Although he initially pursued a career in medicine, a pivotal encounter with Professor K. Jatindra Singh led him to study dance at Visva Bharati University, Santiniketan [5]. Manju Elangbam has performed as a soloist and group artist across India and internationally in countries such as South Korea, France, New Zealand, Cyprus, Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt, and Thailand [2, 4]. He is known for often portraying Lord Krishna in Raas Leela performances [5]. He is also involved in composing music for dance [5] and has expanded choreographies, such as "Radha Abhisaar" [9]. He is currently a faculty member at Manipur University of Culture [4, 6, 7] and teaches in Chandigarh [5].
