Dr. Manjushree Panda is a distinguished Odissi dancer, choreographer, guru, and writer hailing from Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India. She is recognized for her significant contributions to the field of Odissi, preserving India's classical heritage while presenting it to modern audiences with a renewed vision. Dr. Panda commenced her journey in dance at the tender age of six and received her training in the esteemed Deba Prasad Das School of Odissi. She is the Director of the Avantika Academy of Cultural and Social Welfare, also known as Avantika School of Performing Arts, located in Bhubaneswar. Dr. Panda has been actively involved in teaching Odissi for at least 15 years, with her teaching career estimated to have begun around 2001. Her performances are noted for their grace and power, often featuring traditional and innovative interpretations of Odissi. She has presented various pieces, including 'navarasas,' Mangalacharan, Krishna Vandan, and Sree Ashtakam. Beyond her artistic endeavors, Dr. Manjushree Panda holds academic qualifications in sociology, law, and film production, which she believes enrich her understanding and adaptation of contemporary themes in her dance.
