Mathuschanka Baskaran-Kajeep is a Bharatanatyam dancer and teacher born and raised in Zurich, Switzerland. She began her dance journey at the age of four under the tutelage of Guru Gnanasunthary Vasan, the founder of Ratha Nadanalyam in Zurich. Baskaran received over two decades of dedicated training in Bharatanatyam. She completed her teacher's grade examination in Bharatanatyam at the International Institute of Tamil Arts (IITA) in 2020, achieving the highest possible scores. Her Bharatanatyam Arangetram took place on September 14, 2019, in Zurich, Switzerland. During her Rangapravesam, she was honored with the title 'Narthana Selvi' by her Guru Gnanasunthary Vasan, recognizing her accomplishment of completing more than three Margams in Bharatanatyam. She was also noted as the first student to perform her Rangapravesam after achieving her teacher's grade exams. Mathuschanka Baskaran is also trained in Carnatic music. Following her Arangetram and the completion of her teacher's grade exams, she inaugurated the Chidambareshwara Bharathanatyam School in Zurich Oerlikon on February 8, 2020, with the mission to impart this art form to future generations.
