Mavelikkara Krishnankutty Nair (October 11, 1920 – January 13, 1988) was a distinguished Carnatic Mridangam player from Kerala, India. Born in Mavelikara, he showed an early inclination towards percussion, participating in nama sankeertana programs and playing the khanjira at a young age. He received his initial training in Mridangam from Alleppey Venkappan Pillai and Veechur Krishna Iyer. He also considered the legendary Palani Subramaniam Pillai as his 'Manasa Guru' (spiritual teacher). Krishnankutty Nair had a notable career as an artiste for All India Radio in Trivandrum. His contributions to Carnatic music were recognized with several prestigious awards, including the Padma Shri from the President of India.
