Melissa Huser is an Odissi dancer who has dedicated herself to the Indian classical dance form. She received intensive training in Odissi for over a decade under the guidance of Mouli Pal. Her early formative years included practicing Capoeira, a Brazilian martial art that combines elements of dance, acrobatics, and music. After relocating to Boston, Melissa Huser was influenced by Vedic philosophy, which led her to immerse herself in mastering the sacred dance form of Odissi. As a performer, Huser has graced numerous stages, performing widely at various festivals, concerts, and events across New England. She has also expanded her artistic horizons by attending advanced workshops led by the eminent dancer Nandini Ghosal. Melissa Huser's performance repertoire includes unique collaborations, such as performing alongside the acclaimed psychedelic New Age music band "Prince Rama" at significant events like the SXSW (South by Southwest) Festival in Austin, Texas, and the "All Tomorrow's Parties (ATP)" festival in the United Kingdom. Further demonstrating her commitment to dance and community engagement, Melissa Huser is a member of "In Divine Dance Company," an activist dance group based in Boston. Her Odissi performances have been documented and shared through platforms like ISKCON Boston's YouTube channel, featuring her in events such as Radhastami in 2017, Boston Ratha Yatra in 2017, and Janmastami in 2018.
