Mickey Kieu is a dancer who graduated in 2019 with an English major and a dance minor. Kieu was a student of Hari Krishnan, a Bharatanatyam teacher and choreographer. Kieu began learning Bharatanatyam with only ballet training and progressed to performing an hour-long advanced Bharatanatyam concert during their junior year, as well as participating in Krishnan's production of "SKIN" in April 2019. Kieu learned about the history of Bharatanatyam, the importance of understanding the movements, and the interpretation of poetic verses set to Carnatic music. Kieu's experience with Krishnan's teaching also influenced their academic studies, particularly in literature. As of May 2020, Mickey Kieu is a dancer based in China.
