Mirunaaliny S Iyer is an accomplished Indian classical dancer and educator, primarily known for her expertise in Bharatanatyam. Her foundational training in this ancient art form began under the tutelage of Guru Smt. Sukanya Iyer. A significant milestone in her early career was the completion of her Arangetram at the age of 14, which took place at the revered Guruvayur Temple in Kerala, marking her formal debut as a Bharatanatyam dancer. Following her Arangetram, Mirunaaliny dedicated two decades to immersing herself deeply in the art form. During this period, she graced various prestigious stages with her performances and garnered recognition through numerous live appearances and participations in reality shows, showcasing her expressive depth and disciplined technique. Her passion for Bharatanatyam extends beyond performance into its preservation and propagation. In 2018, she channeled this dedication into establishing Kailash Natyalaya, a dance academy situated at the Madhya Kailash Temple in Midrand, Johannesburg, South Africa. This institution serves as a vital space for nurturing and preserving the divine art of Bharatanatyam in the region. A testament to her commitment to grooming the next generation of dancers, Mirunaaliny proudly presented five of her students for their Arangetram in 2024. Her teaching methodology is inclusive, as she offers instruction in multiple Indian languages, including Hindi, Marathi, Malayalam, and Tamil, alongside English, enabling her to connect with a culturally diverse and global student base.
