Smt. Mohana Harendran is a prominent figure in Indian classical dance, specifically Bharatanatyam, and a Carnatic singer. She is the founder of Sathyalayam School of Music and Dance in Singapore. Mohana Harendran received her Bharatanatyam training under the esteemed Smt. Rukmini Devi Arundale, a legendary exponent of the art form and founder of Kalakshetra. For Carnatic music, she was a disciple of Smt. D.K. Pattammal, a celebrated Carnatic vocalist. Mohana Harendran is also the daughter of Neila Sathyalingam, a leading exponent of Indian classical dance in Singapore and a recipient of the Cultural Medallion. Mohana Harendran actively carries on her mother's legacy by teaching Indian music and dance. Her career includes performances at prestigious venues, such as the Carnatic Music Academy in Madras (Chennai). She has also shared her life experiences and insights into her training with her gurus at public events. In 2020, she participated in "Devi Diaries" during Navaratri, presenting a vocal piece and mentioning her students. Through Sathyalayam, she contributes to the propagation of Indian classical arts in Singapore.
