Moumita Ghosh, also known as Moumita Vaats Ghosh, is a distinguished Indian classical Odissi dancer. She began her Odissi training at the age of eight under the tutelage of Padmashri Guru Smt. Madhavi Mudgal at the Gandharva Mahavidyalaya in New Delhi. Her understanding of the art form was further enriched by attending periodic workshops conducted by the late Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra. Ghosh is recognized as an 'A' grade artiste of Doordarshan and is empaneled with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR). She has performed extensively as a soloist and as part of her Guru's troupe across various international venues in Europe, the USA, and South America. Beyond performing, she actively contributes to the dissemination of Odissi through workshops and lecture demonstrations both in India and abroad. Moumita Ghosh also explores choreographic works within the classical idiom of Odissi dance, demonstrating her creative instincts and deep understanding of the form. She has also contributed articles on dance to publications like the Times of India's "Speaking Tree" page.
