Mrs. Premavathi Nagulan is the Founder and Artistic Director of Shrishti Natyalaya, a premier Bharathanatyam dance school based in Croydon, United Kingdom. With an academic background that includes an MSc in International Business from London, she uniquely blends cultural depth with a global perspective in her approach to classical arts. Her journey in Bharathanatyam began at the tender age of seven, under the tutelage of Guru Natanamani Balu, the esteemed Director of Natanamani Natya Niketan. In 2019, Mrs. Nagulan established Shrishti Natyalaya with a profound vision: to gracefully, humbly, and purposefully transmit the timeless wisdom of Bharathanatyam to future generations. The academy emphasizes that classical dance is not merely an art form but a way of life, where students learn discipline, devotion, and storytelling through every mudra, movement, and melody. Shrishti Natyalaya is dedicated to offering the finest training in Bharathanatyam, while simultaneously instilling a deep respect for its cultural and spiritual heritage. The curriculum at Shrishti Natyalaya incorporates Kalakshetra-style technique alongside creative expression, cultural immersion through Tamil and Sanskrit vocabulary, and provides opportunities for performances and Arangetram preparation. The school also conducts artistic workshops focusing on mudras, costume design, and storytelling, aiming to shape not just dancers, but artists, storytellers, and cultural ambassadors. Further demonstrating her commitment to excellence in dance education, Mrs. Premavathi Nagulan is a registered teacher with the Organisation for the Advancement of Arts and Literature (OFAAL) and actively serves as an examiner for the organization.
