Mrs Ragini Rajagopal is a pioneering Bharatanatyam teacher, originally from Sri Lanka. She started her first school in Sri Lanka in 1975. In 1985, she moved to the UK and began teaching Bharatanatyam at St Fransiscan School in Tooting, where she has continued for over 35 years. She teaches both Sri Lankan and multiracial students and has received several awards for her service to Sri Lankan dance. She is recognized as one of the most famous teachers in London and was the first Indian dance teacher to be recognized by Wandsworth Council. She and her dancers perform at religious festivals and charitable events.
