🪔 About

Ms. Haritha Haridas is a highly accomplished Indian classical danseuse, instructor, and the Founder Director of Medasvi School of Dance in Singapore. With over 30 years of extensive experience in learning, instructing, and performing Mohiniyattam and Bharatanatyam, she has graced more than 100 events, festivals, functions, and workshops across India and Singapore. Her profound journey in classical dance began with comprehensive training under the tutelage of Smt. Shyamala Surendran at the Dharani School of Performing Arts in Kochi, Kerala. Smt. Surendran, a recipient of the Kerala Sahitya Akademi award, is a distinguished disciple of the legendary Kalamandalam Kalyanikutty Amma for Mohiniyattam and The Dhananjayans for Bharatanatyam, providing Haritha with a rich and authentic foundation in both art forms. Further enhancing her academic credentials, Haritha Haridas holds a Masters in Fine Arts (MFA Bharatanatyam) from SASTRA University, Thanjavur, which she pursued under the esteemed guidance of the legendary danseuse Padmabhushan Dr. Padma Subrahmanyam and her dedicated team. Demonstrating a continuous commitment to her artistic development and pedagogical excellence, she has been pursuing a Diploma for Dance Teacher Training (Sikhshapurna) at Darshan Educational & Charitable Trust since July 2024, under the aegis of eminent scholar Dr. C P Unnikrishnan. Concurrently, she is undertaking advanced Mohiniyattam training under Smt. Sandra Pisharody. As the driving force behind Medasvi School of Dance, established in April 2020, Ms. Haritha Haridas leads an institution dedicated to fostering the South Indian classical dance forms of Mohiniyattam and Bharatanatyam. The school, based in Singapore, has attracted over 100 students of all ages, offering specialized instruction in Mohiniyattam, a rarity in Singapore, alongside Bharatanatyam. Her contributions to the art form have been recognized with accolades such as the first Bhakti Narthaki Award in 2020 and the Natyasarvabhouma International Award in 2022 by Natyaranjini - Centre for Dance Excellence, for her significant impact on Mohiniyattam in Singapore. She has also been a lead performer in Dharani productions and has presented Mohiniyattam ensembles at significant cultural events, including India's Republic Day celebrations at the High Commission of India in Singapore. Awards & Honours: Bhakti Narthaki Award (2020), Natyasarvabhouma International Award by Natyaranjini - Centre for Dance Excellence (2022).
