Apeksha Niranjan is a celebrated Bharatanatyam dancer, choreographer, and teacher, known for her extensive international performances and innovative blending of Indian classical dance with diverse cultural elements. Born and raised in Kolhapur, India, Niranjan began her artistic journey at a young age, starting Kathak at six and Bharatanatyam at eight. Her rigorous training included guidance from Guru Pandit Badrinath Kulkarni and further studies at the Nalanda Dance Research Centre. She also trained under distinguished gurus such as Dr. Alka Lajmi and Sangeet Natak Academy Awardee Dr. Suchita Sapekar. Over two decades ago, Niranjan founded her own institution, Nrityanjali Performing Arts, through which she continues to nurture the next generation of dancers, with students located in India, the United States, and Dubai. Her performances have graced stages globally, including nearly 50 recitals in Poland, as well as in France, the United States, Canada, Italy, Georgia, Thailand, South Korea, and Sri Lanka. Niranjan is particularly recognized for her unique fusion work, notably blending Bharatanatyam with Polish folk music, a creative endeavor inspired by her personal connection to Poland through her grandmother, Wanda Niwicka, a Polish refugee from World War II. This cross-cultural exploration is exemplified in her piece "Polska Spotyka Indie" (When Poland Meets India), which combines Bharatanatyam's ancient rhythms with Polish folk melodies to tell poignant stories. Beyond her dance career, Apeksha Niranjan has also had a stint as an actress, performing lead roles in several Marathi films. She is based in Mumbai, India.
