Guru Mythili Raghavan is a highly respected figure in Indian classical dance, particularly known for her contributions to Bharatanatyam. She is the founder and head of the Academy of Indian Dances in Pune, India. Her dedication to the art form is evident through her long teaching career, spanning at least two decades prior to 2017. Raghavan has received significant recognition for her work, including the prestigious Iyal Isai Nadagam award and the Pandita Rohini Bhate Puraskar from the Pune Municipal Corporation in 2013. A book titled "Guru Mythili Raghavan" was released in 2017 to commemorate her 70th birthday, with proceeds supporting her academy. Her training journey includes experiences at Kalakshetra and under teachers such as Gowri Pati, Pushpa Teacher, and Jaya Teacher. Through her academy, she has nurtured numerous students, many of whom have gone on to establish their own dance careers and institutions.
