Natalia Salgado is a prominent figure in the propagation, teaching, and performance of Indian classical dance forms, including Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, and Odissi, across South America and Europe. Alongside her sister Patricia Salgado, she co-founded Güngur, a cultural center based in Argentina and Spain. Güngur has been instrumental in institutionalizing the training and performance of Indic classical arts, fostering collaboration, and connecting learners with Indic knowledge systems through dance. Natalia manages the Buenos Aires branch of Güngur, leveraging her background in Marketing and Advertising to handle communications and proposals, ensuring the center's outreach and operational success. Her profound journey into Indian classical dance commenced in Argentina at Guru Ranga Vivekanda's school, where she began her initial training alongside her sister. Driven by a deep spiritual connection and artistic pursuit, she furthered her intensive training in India, undertaking multiple immersive trips in 2007, 2009, 2012, and 2014. She regards India as her spiritual destination and the sacred home of her revered gurus, whose teachings profoundly shape her artistic expression. Salgado is a staunch proponent of the traditional guru-shishya system of learning, meticulously imparting foundational knowledge and the intricate nuances of these classical forms to her students. She actively encourages her disciples to pursue advanced studies with renowned masters in India, thereby ensuring the continuity and authenticity of the art form. Her teaching legacy is substantial, having personally trained over 100 students. A testament to her dedication to expanding the global reach of Indian classical dance, in 2021, she notably co-organized the "First Latin American Congress of Indian classical dance" in Buenos Aires. This landmark virtual event, supported by the Indian Embassy and Ministry of Culture, brought together esteemed masters such as V.P. Dhananjayan and Sujata Mohapatra, inspiring over 2000 participants from around the world and significantly contributing to the understanding and appreciation of Indian classical dance in the Western hemisphere.
