Nayani (Nia) Rajamohan began her training in Bharathanatyam, a South Indian classical dance form, in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) at the age of four. By the time she was 13, she had become a full-fledged teacher of the art form. Rajamohan founded Saakshi Innovations, a dance company that focuses on making South Indian classical performing arts, including Bharathanatyam and Carnatic music, accessible to a wide range of individuals. Through Saakshi Innovations, she develops performances and workshops, with projects that include working with individuals living with developmental disabilities and seniors. The company aims to enhance art therapy by integrating South Indian classical art forms, using music, rhythm, dance, and drama to tell stories and improve cognitive skills. Rajamohan has over 10 years of teaching experience and has performed for and worked with seniors. She is currently pursuing a double degree in Math and Business at the University of Waterloo.
