Neelambaree Prasad is an accomplished Odissi dancer, scientist, and advocate known for her innovative approach to integrating classical Indian dance with climate and science communication. She received her training from esteemed Gurus Debi Basu and the legendary Kelucharan Mohapatra, establishing a strong foundation in the Odissi tradition. Prasad has leveraged her sixteen years of experience in healthcare to inform her artistic practice, creating a unique intersection between art and science. In 2018, she co-founded Madhuriya, an initiative dedicated to perpetuating the artistic legacy of Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra in Odissi. Further expanding her vision, Prasad established ClimArts in 2022, a pioneering platform that brings together artists and climate experts to craft evidence-based climate narratives through the performing arts. Her performances have graced prestigious stages, including the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) in Mumbai and The Nehru Centre in London. Neelambaree Prasad's recent notable achievements include directing the multi-award-winning documentary film "The Resilient River" in 2024, and conducting a workshop at Sadler's Wells in 2025. She has also presented at the Skoll World Forum and mentors artists, including a principal dancer from the English Youth Ballet, on climate-themed artistic endeavors. Through her innovative storytelling projects, Prasad consistently strives to make complex climate solutions accessible and engaging for diverse audiences, demonstrating the profound impact art can have on critical global issues.
