Neha Mahalakshmi Nataraj is an Indian classical dancer specializing in Bharatanatyam and a Carnatic vocalist. She commenced her Bharatanatyam training at the age of six and has been actively performing solo and as part of the Three Aksha Dance Company since 2004, with performances across the U.S. and India. Notable venues for her dance performances include the Painted Bride Art Center in Philadelphia, and she has participated in a performance tour hosted by the Government of India. In parallel with her dance pursuits, Nataraj began her vocal Carnatic music training at the age of three. She marked her formal debut in Carnatic music, known as an arangetram or rangapravesha, with a two-hour solo performance in August 2011. This event took place at the McInnis Auditorium, Eastern University, located in St Davids, PA. Her musical talents were also recognized when she won the Teen Idol competition at the World Kannada Conference in 2010. Nataraj has also contributed to the discourse on classical dance, having authored a review article for a classical dance recital that was published in various local newspapers. In March 2015, she engaged in a collaborative project titled 'Vibhava' in Philadelphia, PA, alongside the esteemed senior dance Guru Professor C. V. Chandrasekhar. This project encompassed a series of workshops and performances. Beyond her artistic endeavors, Neha Nataraj is also a graduate student at the University of Pennsylvania.
