Nithya Kasibhatla is an accomplished Bharatanatyam dancer based in Cleveland, Ohio, USA. She is a dedicated disciple of Guru Sujatha Srinivasan, the artistic director of Shri Kalaa Mandir. Nithya completed her arangetram in June 2016, marking her official debut in Bharatanatyam. She has since established herself as a passionate performer, participating in numerous cultural events and competitions across the United States and India. Her performances include a virtual presentation at VAH's premiere gala and a Bharatanatyam program for Kala Prashala in July 2021. She has also performed with the Shri Kalaa Mandir dance company, showcasing traditional Bharatanatyam repertoire and participating in productions like "Vivarta - Transformations" in St. Louis, Missouri. Nithya's talent has been recognized with several awards, including the grand prize at the Cleveland Thyagaraja Festival in 2018 and first place at New Jersey Nate's Sangamam in the same year. She also secured first place in the Nacha idol 2017 dance competition. Beyond her dance pursuits, Nithya holds a BA in English Writing and a BA in Neuroscience from the University of Pittsburgh, graduating in 2022. She further pursued an MS in Applied Neuroscience at Ohio State University, which she received in 2024. During her time at the University of Pittsburgh, she served as captain and advisor for Nrityamala, the university's award-winning collegiate classical dance team. Her artistic endeavors also extend to Carnatic music, which she studies under Smt. Aparna Devaguptapu and Sri Lalit Subramanian, contributing to the unique grace and melodiousness of her dance.
