Niveditha Parthasarathy is a distinguished Bharatanatyam dancer, teacher, and choreographer based in Chennai, India. With a career spanning over three decades, she has dedicated herself to preserving and propagating the rich tradition of Indian classical dance. She is the founder and head of the Nivedanam Dance School, which celebrated its silver jubilee in 2014, indicating its establishment around 1989. The school operates from three locations in Chennai: Adyar, Velachery, and Triplicane, and as of 2014, trained approximately 40 students. Niveditha Parthasarathy is known for carrying forward the legacy of the legendary Padmashree K.N. Dandayudhapanipillai, also known as Natya Chakravarthy, through her guru. Her performances have graced stages internationally, including Indonesia and Bali, where she performed for the Indian External Affairs Ministry. She has also been instrumental in reviving traditional dance forms, such as "Pinnal Kolattam," which she brought back to prominence through a workshop with Dr. Ranganayaki Jayaraman. Her contributions to the field of Bharatanatyam were recognized with the prestigious Kalaimamani award in 2019. Niveditha Parthasarathy's dedication extends to training the next generation of dancers, including her son, Prathyumnan Parthasarathy, who performs nattuvangam for her productions, and her disciple Rekha Shanmugham, whose daughter Latika Shanmugham also performs.
